Three Weeks of Travel, Part 1: Vegas and Alabama

We started the month of May anticipating our trip to Alabama to see Nate's family. Our flight left the morning of the 4th and we had planned to drive down the night before and stay with Nate's friend Seth. We were ready to go early so we looked up things to do in Vegas and headed down Monday morning. We spent the day watching water shows, avoiding pornography, and looking at lions, displays at the Billagio, and M&Ms. We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe and then headed to Seth's. It was snowing when we left Cedar City, and in Las Vegas it was so hot my fingers and feet were swelling up by the end of the day, I am not use to that heat! We had fun, but neither of us cared much for Las Vegas. This is the boys checking out the fishes:
Then we headed to Alabama. Not much to say ... we mostly just hung out. We LOVED the warm weather, but I was really not into the humidity. When we first got there we stopped at Target to get some things and this is what we saw:

Seriously?

This is their house. AL is very green and the house is on 5 arces, nestled back in the trees:

We got to celebrate mother's day there and we went to dinner with Nate's brother who is in college. We played Mario Cart and watched movies. Daniel LOVED their dog, MJ, and would crawl right up to her and pet her and climb on her. Luckily MJ is older and very calm. This is very different from Joey who used to freak out at the sight of a dog, but because Daniel liked the dog Joey did too.
Daniel also got to sit on the tractor with Grandpa:
He didn't like it very much. Joey wouldn't go on at all, even though he is pretty obsesed with tractors.

Joey stayed busy with the Brio Train set ... we would love one of these!

Nate got to help get the pool ready for the summer, they all had to stand there and let this thing drain, until finally Drew thought to cut it open:

And finally, this is just a pretty picture I took driving back to the airport to leave:

Joey loved flying after the intial "this is weird! what's going on?!" He got mad when we weren't going to another airplane to fly again.

To be continued ....
