I really wish I had taken pictures:
Last Friday, we went to the high school track with Nate to do the boy scouts physical fitness merit badge. Joey brought his bike and rode around the track twice plus more, which is an accomplishment when each pedal he does only takes him about 2 inches. He loved it, then we walked down to the park and he loved playing and going down the big slide. Daniel got to swing and he laughed and laughed every time I pushed him.
On Monday we went to the Keller's for dinner. They have four kids and their little girls loved playing with Joey. They went mattress surfing down the stairs and Joey couldn't get enough of it.
On Tuesday we had a family outing. We had dinner and then went bowling. Joey was so cute, he'd grab his 6 pound ball and huff it to the lane and put it on the thing. Then he'd push it down and jump up and down. When we bowled he would clap and then say "Good job!" He was so cute with little size 6 bowling shoes on.
On Wednesday we went to the library for storytime. He loved it and we checked out one of the books she read. Joey got excited about the tractor in it and when she said we could take the books, he jumped up and grabbed it. I was amazed that he understood it all to quickly and remembered which book he wanted (it was read second out of about 6 books). We also got him Jay Jay the airplane and he has been watching it and now talks about Jay Jay all the time. Today he asked me what Jay Jay was doing. He'll be sad when that goes back to the library.
On Thrusday We went to St. George. Nate went to the temple while I ran errands. We went to the health food store and while there got him a little tiny frozen yogurt. He took a bite and went "uuummmm, Mom, it's yummy, I like it!" When we got home I had a Relief Society Meeting and Nate had a basketball game at the same time. We divided and conquered: Nate took Joey and I took Daniel. Joey played with the other kids and loved it.
Then, today Nate and I went to play raquetball and Joey got to go to Shaun's house. Then Shaun came to our house and they had a blast. I loved it! Joey was distracted and I cleaned the living room and the kitchen without a single distraction and even read a little of my book. He was very sad when Shaun left, but he's coming back tomorrow for dinner!
So you see, it's been busy, but it's been quite the week for Joey. He's been a happy and spoiled little boy! However, he has sat in time out more than usual this week, he's been extra defiant, which for Joey, I think is a good thing, but he still gets to sit in time out. We are looking forward to Monday, when Nate has no school. We have designated it as the do nothing day, so we can both relax!
If anybody needs a fun, light-hearted, absolutely wonderful book to read, I suggest "At Home in Mitford" by Jan Karon. I absolutely love it! I borrowed the series from my mom, but I am going to be collecting my own! It's got to be one of my favorites, I laugh and laugh and smile the whole time I read it and I can really use a laugh and a smile.
I'm out!
