Family reunion

We had a long reunion this year. We met in Salt Lake City for and NF1 awareness walk for my cousin and for General Conference. While there we went to the Dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point with Brian and Ben, and then Brad and Katie and Kids joined us at the Zoo:

Joey said "Mom, this dinosaur lost his leg!"

All three boys were scared to go in here, and Brian just made is seem scarier to them.

Then Joey got brave enough to go in the cave; he and Daniel spent a lot of the time being scared of the dinosaurs.

Even Ben was scared of this one, but once I showed them it wouldn't eat me, they went to talk to him.

Being dinosaurs outside.
Monkeys watching monkeys.

She's adorable!

I didn't get the picture in time. Joey was having a chat with the fox.

(not) Watching conference at my cousins house.

She's just so cute!

Finally posting

I went to the "Dressing Your Truth Annual Event" in August and I am finally posting picture. I absolutely love this program. It changes lives, and relationships. You can check it out at kristennevins.dressingyourtruth.com. I went with my friend Sherene and my Aunt Jody. I meet 6 other people in Cedar City who all do the program and so we now watch club nights together and have had two other friend buy the program since then. It rocks!

I was picked for a game:

What am I so distressed about?

Drawing

Joey has never cared to draw until recently. For example, whenever they had the kids color or draw in nursery and sent the paper home with the kids, Joey's was always blank. For his birthday, he got this electronic writing tablet that teaches him how to write letters, and after about a day of that he started writing the letters on paper. Then, he handed me a piece of paper that looked like this:
I was amazed! He proceeded to draw tons of pictures for his Grandmas and Grandpas and some aunt and uncles. He mostly drew frogs. And they actually looked like frogs. I was very impressed!

Then, today Daniel shows me this and tells me it's a bug. He said, "Bug! See, look. Legs!

I'm amazed!! He also writes the letter "D", over and over and over and over and over ...

Joey's quote of the day

"Hey Dad, when you're naked, you punch people, okay?"

Awesome blessing in our lives of the day:
We bought a house (more on that later) and one of the updates we are doing requires a sliding glass door, it'll cost around $500. Well, today we were GIVEN one that is in good shape, the people were just switching to french doors! YAY!

Joey's had a birthday

Joey was so excited for his birthday. And it finally came! First he woke up to a present on the table:

It was his birthday cereal (we don't usually have dry cereal in our house anymore, so that was very exciting for him). Then, we had a dance party:

I didn't even make Joey get dressed! When daddy was home for lunch we let him open some birthday cards and one present we got him. The cats had a hay day with the envelope pieces:

That night, we went bowling:

Joey had to show us both shoes:

We went with our friends, the Whipples:
Daniel's strunnin' his stuff:
Then, CAKE!:

And homemade strawberry ice cream:
more presents!

I love my joey. He is the sweetest boy. He loves to cuddle and he will often tell me he loves me. He gets concerned when he can see that others feel bad. He loves to take care of and play with his little brother. He's incredibly smart. He is learning to write his letters, took a sudden interest in drawing (to be posted later), and loves to play the piano. He can play Iron man, Once there was a snowman, I'm am a Child of God, and this old man, Mary had a little lamb, etc. He just sits down and tries to figure them out and then asks for help. Joey loves his daddy and loves to play with him. He likes running errands with me, likes riding in the car, and loves playing with his friends, especially when he gets to go to Jace's house. He already knows everything, lucky boy, but still asks me questions to make sure I know the right answer, if I don't, he'll make sure and tell me the real answer (aren't I lucky to have a 4 year old who already knows everything?). He has a great memory and Nate and I can ask Joey somebody's name, etc, if we forgot it.

We love Joey!!!!!
